2013 Scholar - Benjamin Evans

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar presented Bishop Dwenger High School student Benjamin Evans with a four-year $4,000 college scholarship on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at an Indianapolis banquet honoring outstanding minority high school seniors from across the state.

Bishop served as Activities Director for the Student Council, a Peer Tutor, Captain of the Football Team, and Captain of the Wrestling Team. He was also a member of the Latin Club, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and the Decade Club.

Bemjamin has an impressive record of volunteer activities, including involvement at Children’s Hope House, Community Harvest Food Bank, Saints on the Move, and Saint’s Alive. He also volunteered as a coach at the Euell A. Wilson Football Camp, a camp for at-risk children. As a result of his spirit of servanthood, he was awarded the Mother Theresa award for service at his high school.

Benjamin attends the University of Notre Dame.
