2013 Scholar - Katherine Combs

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar presented Perry Meridian High School student Katherine Combs with a four-year $20,000 college scholarship on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at an Indianapolis banquet honoring outstanding minority high school seniors from across the state.


Katherine is a true leader, having served as Team Captain of a FIRST Robotics Team, as President, Vice President, and Secretary with the Girl Scouts, and as a Freshman Orientation Leader for the Perry Meridian Link Crew. Katherine was also chosen by Perry Meridian High School to serve as a delegate to Hoosier Girls’ State.


Katherine was a member of the National Honor Society, attended the Minority High School Scholars Actuarial Academy, and participated in the Women in Engineering Camp at the University of Dayton. She worked at the VFW as a World War II Veterans Reunion Volunteer, and volunteered as an English as a Learning Language Tutor.


Katherine attends Purdue University.
