2013 Scholar - Rebecca Abaddi

U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar presented Hamilton Southeastern High School student Rebecca Abaddi with a four-year $4,000 college scholarship on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at an Indianapolis banquet honoring outstanding minority high school seniors from across the state.


Rebecca was a three-year member of the Junior Varsity Swim Team. She was also an active member National Honor Society, and has served as both a staff writer and the Features Editor of her high school newspaper, The Orb.


Rebecca volunteered in the St. Vincent Hospital Pediatric ER department, and participated as an intern in IUPUI’s Project Seed program. During her internship, she studied the correlation between socioeconomic status and cardiovascular disease risk factors.


Rebecca served as a camp counselor at Felege Hiywot Center Summer Camp and a counselor at Camp Tecumseh, and was also a private piano tutor.


Rebecca attends Purdue University.
