U.S. Sen. Dick Lugar presented Angola High School student Christopher Clemens with a four-year $4,000 college scholarship on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at an Indianapolis banquet honoring outstanding minority high school seniors from across the state.
Christopher demonstrated leadership as a four-year member of student council, as Treasurer/Secretary of his class, and as a 3 year captain of the soccer team.
Christopher is a well-rounded student who has participated in numerous athletic and extra-curricular activities, including being a member of the National Honor Society, church youth group, the Student Athlete Advisory Council, and as a SWARM Peer Mentor. A scholar athlete, he was a four-year member of the soccer, swimming, and golf teams. He also managed to squeeze hours into his schedule for part-time work as a lifeguard at the YMCA and at a family farm.
Christopher plans to study Mechanical Engineering at Valparaiso University.
